National Geographic photos

Branching off from my last post, here are some amazing photos taken by people who in my opinion are not getting enough credit.

The site is here: http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/visions-of-earth/visions-earth-2011
Explore the website, you are bound to find some interesting things.

Photography

Don't lie. I know you have a really great digital camera just sitting around the house. You got it a couple of years ago for Christmas and now it is just sitting on top of your shelf. Well it is time to bust that camera out because school has started and so has photography class. Photography is an awesome hobby that can be described as 21st century art. The vibrancy, the colors: Wow! After all your initial photography basics you will learn to love photography and even more so as your collection of photos grow.

If I had to rate this hobby out of 10, I would give it a 9 because of the advantages listed above but also because of the frustration you might experience when your first few photos aren't good.

Below are some awesome photographers and there pictures.

How to make efficient to-do lists

To do lists are necessary in every student's life. It helps them remember due dates, assignments and things that need to get done on that day. They are simple tools that help you solve complex problems. To-do lists are helpful when you are forgetful so you will never have a late assignment again. To make a to do list:
  1. Take a 5" by 7" sheet of paper, fold it up and put in your pocket.
  2. Carry a pen or pencil with you at all times.
  3. Whenever you hear that you have an assignment, something due etc, quickly jot it down.
    1. The most efficient way to jot it down would be like this:
Whenever you finish one task quickly check it off. It is absoulutly reccomended that you complete all the tasks that you have written down.At the end of the day, you will feel good that you have completely done everything on your to-do-list.

Cross country

Cross country is a very stamina requiring sport. It requires you to run 5 to 6 miles without getting tired or taking breaks. It helps build up stamina, strength and basically make you look buff! You get to go on road trips to places where you can run and do all sorts of cool things like this. Stamina is very useful for other sports such as football, and basketball where lots of training and conditioning is required.

If I had to rate this EC out of 10 I would give it a 7 because of the advantages listed above but also because of the stamina and time it requires.

Extra-curriculars

Robotics

Robotics is a really cool extra-curricular. It is pretty useful for people who want to go into the field of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Colleges really love to see this on academic reports. It is a really great competition because you get to travel and you get to apply what you learned in the classrooms in the field. This is the absolute best way to learn something and reinforce it to remember it later.

If I had to rate this EC out of 10, I would probably give it a an 8 because of the advantages listed above but also because it includes long meetings, complex processes and intense competitions.

How to get good grades in math class

Got a C on that math test again? Don't worry about it. It really is simple. It all boils down to 3 easy steps.
  1. Pay attention in math class. I know this is sort of obvious but it is important. If you pay attention in your math class, you should be able to fluently and efficiently finish your homework (importance of your homework will be discussed in the next step). You should ask questions often, clear up doubts and basically participate as much as you can in your class.
  2. Do your homework properly. I cannot emphasize this enough but let me put it like this. If you listen in class, you do HW properly. If you do HW properly, you will be able to ace your math tests. If you ace your math tests, you are bound to get A's in math. (well duh)
  3. Finally, careless mistakes are still possible. I mean it's math right? So finish your test as quickly and accurately as possible. Do not rush through your test. Rather pace yourself. and once you have finished all of your work, check your answers or do the entire test again if you have to.
Follow these three steps and be on your way to straight A's in math!
